PC system requirements and setup checklist
Steam’s current official requirements, translated into a practical pre-installation check.

01Official Steam targets
Steam lists these targets with upscaling enabled. Use them as a baseline, not as a guarantee for every scene, recorder or background workload.
| Target | CPU | GPU | Memory / storage |
|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum — 1080p Low, 30 FPS | Core i5-8400 / Ryzen 3 3100 | GTX 1660 6 GB / RX 5500 XT 8 GB | 16 GB RAM · 50 GB · SSD |
| Recommended — 1080p Medium, 60 FPS | Core i5-10400 / Ryzen 5 3600 | RTX 2060 Super 8 GB / RX 6600 8 GB | 16 GB RAM · 50 GB · SSD |
02Other listed requirements
Steam lists Windows 11, a 64-bit processor and operating system, DirectX 12 and SSD storage. Check the current store language table and notes before purchase.
03First PC launch
Update graphics drivers through the official vendor, close unnecessary background workloads and start from a conservative preset. Change one graphics option at a time after you have a stable baseline.
04Read the target correctly
The official minimum is a 1080p Low target at 30 FPS with upscaling; the recommended tier is 1080p Medium at 60 FPS with upscaling. Those labels do not mean every stronger GPU will automatically deliver maximum settings, especially when resolution, recording or background workloads change.
05PC decision table
Match your machine to the target Steam actually publishes, then test before raising settings.
| Your hardware position | Start with | What to do next |
|---|---|---|
| Below the listed minimum CPU, GPU or 16 GB RAM | Do not assume a playable target | Upgrade or wait for an official benchmark/demo on your machine. |
| At the minimum tier | 1080p Low, 30 FPS with upscaling | Stabilize this first; close recording and unnecessary background tasks. |
| At the recommended tier | 1080p Medium, 60 FPS with upscaling | Check your chosen resolution, then adjust one setting at a time. |
| You record, stream or keep heavy apps open | More memory headroom than the 16 GB baseline | Test without those workloads first so you can identify the cause of a hitch. |
| Game drive is HDD or nearly full | Move/install to an SSD with 50 GB plus update space | Steam lists SSD storage as required; free space is not the confirmed download size. |
06Official Steam specs
| | Minimum | Recommended | High (published) | Ultra (published) | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Target | 1080p30 Low + upscale | 1080p60 Medium + upscale | 1440p60 | 4K60 | | OS | Windows 11 64-bit | Windows 11 64-bit | Windows 11 | Windows 11 | | CPU | i5-8400 / Ryzen 3 3100 | i5-10400 / Ryzen 5 3600 | i5-10400 / Ryzen 5 3600 | i5-12400 / Ryzen 7 5700 | | RAM | 16 GB | 16 GB | 16 GB | 16 GB | | GPU | GTX 1660 6GB / RX 5500 XT 8GB | RTX 2060 Super 8GB / RX 6600 8GB | RTX 4060 Ti 16GB / RX 6750 XT 12GB | RTX 4070 Ti 12GB / RX 7900 XT 20GB | | Storage | 50 GB SSD | 50 GB SSD | 50 GB SSD | 50 GB SSD | Steam’s additional notes: frame-rate may drop under load; SSD is required; Super Resolution is NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 and AMD FSR 3.1; the upscaling estimates used DLSS 4.0 and FSR 3.1; raise RAM if you capture or stream at the same time; specs can change. DirectX 12 only. HDR is listed as a Steam category. The platforms page covers console modes if you are still choosing a screen.
07Can you run it?
Use the checker below as a triage, not as a benchmark. CAPCOM’s own demo and the official benchmark tool (where offered) beat any dropdown. If you are on Windows 10, you are already below the printed OS line. If you are on an HDD, stop — the notes say SSD. If you are on 8 GB of RAM, stop. The rest is GPU math. ###### Can you run Onimusha: Way of the Sword? Pick the closest match to your PC. Targets come from CAPCOM’s official Steam specs — minimum 1080p30 Low with upscaling, recommended 1080p60 Medium with upscaling. An SSD is required. Digital Foundry’s console-demo notes are a useful mood check: Quality 4K30 is solid, Performance 60 is strong, full RT was not on. PC will vary more. Demo mods already exist to force extra RT; that is not a support path. For a feel of the workload, install the demo on the same drive you will use on September 4, and read the review roundup for the first-week scores.
08Denuvo, storefronts, file size
Denuvo Anti-tamper ships with a five-different-PCs-per-day activation limit. A desktop plus a laptop plus a stay-over PC will hit it if you keep installing. Steam Cloud is on. Epic and Microsoft Store also sell the game; Microsoft Store is the Play Anywhere pair with Xbox. The install asks 50 GB. Leave more for a day-one patch — RE Engine titles usually grow on night zero. Keyboard and mouse work; a controller is the intended control feel. If the checker says you are at Minimum, turn DLSS or FSR on before you touch Ultra textures. If it says you are under Minimum, the edition you buy will not fix the GPU. Buy on the screen that already meets Recommended, or wait for a patch-week benchmark from a trusted channel after launch.
FAQよくある質問
Is Windows 10 supported?
The printed spec is Windows 11. Steam’s own client already requires Windows 10 or newer, but Capcom’s game line is Windows 11.
Can I install on a hard disk?
No. The Steam notes say an SSD is required.
Does it use Denuvo?
Yes. Five unique machine activations per day.
Will DLSS frame generation be available?
CAPCOM lists DLSS 4.5 and FSR 3.1. Exact feature toggles (generation vs super resolution only) belong to the in-game video menu on day one.
