GUIDE HUB

Onimusha: Way of the Sword guides

Find a player-first route for combat, demo progress, souls and the main journey.

01Start here

New to the series: how to play is the first-hour loop — stance, when to stop attacking, why Action is a teacher. Then souls: yellow heals, red upgrades, blue fuels Oni Armaments, and you can walk while absorbing. Difficulty lives on its own page because Story / 活劇 is an accessibility choice, not a joke mode — see Action versus Story.

  • How to play — first-hour stance and the Action default.
  • Souls — colours, walking absorb, what the PS2 games did not allow.
  • Difficulty — 剣戟 versus 活劇.
  • Issen — the tightest window in the kit, including Chain and Break.
  • Parry and deflect — the safer drill that teaches the Issen beat.

02The demo, tonight

The free file is still the best classroom. Complete the demo is the checklist: Kiyomizu-dera, Ganryu, Oni Refuge, Daidara, ten Issen, Kubi Akari. The long route is the demo walkthrough. Boss pages: Sasaki Ganryu and Daidara. The demo hub has storefront links and Steam AppID 3974650.

03After unlock

The walkthrough maps confirmed locations now (Kiyomizu-dera, Rokudo Chinno-ji, Dokyo’s lab, Yasui Konpira, Mount Oe, Oni Portals) and will grow with spoiler labels after 4 September. Boss index: all bosses. Launch clock: preload. Review consensus: reviews. This hub will not duplicate those pages; it only points.

FAQよくある質問

Where do I start if I have never played Onimusha?

How to play, then souls, then the demo. Issen last. Story mode exists if Action is too sharp.

Does the demo walkthrough spoil the campaign?

It spoils the free file only: Kiyomizu-dera, Ganryu, the Oni Refuge, Daidara. Mount Oe and Rashōgan are campaign.

Is there a full-game collectible guide?

Not a verified one on this wiki until rooms are public. Do not follow an undated “100 percent” spreadsheet.

Why is this a separate page?

The PC dropdown shows at most eight links. Extra guides belong on a hub, not in a scrolling menu.
