MUSIC & MEDIA

Soundtrack and official music

Find music through official releases; a trailer, fan playlist and soundtrack announcement are different things.

01Where to look first

Start with Capcom’s official channels and the game’s official site. They are the proper place for an album, composer credit or digital release announcement.

02Use the right kind of link

A trailer uses music to support a scene; it is not automatically a soundtrack track list. Note the context of a cue and compare it with an official release when one exists.

03Avoid false track lists

Do not treat auto-generated video labels, fan playlists or retailer placeholders as confirmed soundtrack data.

04“Issen” and why Capcom picked this band

“一閃” (Issen — “a flash”) is the official promo single by MAN WITH A MISSION, the Japanese rock band famous for wearing wolf masks. Capcom dropped the song on the official X account and the CapcomAsia YouTube channel on 22 August 2026, three weeks before launch. The shared name with the in-game counter mechanic is intentional: the band is the marketing wing of the Issen verb, and every video that says “Issen” in the search box now reaches both the game clip and the music video. This is the most co-ordinated soundtrack launch Capcom has staged for an Onimusha title. The CapcomAsia upload of the song runs about 2:40 and uses Musashi-combat-onimusha-stock-footage editing — close-quarter katana cuts, dash cancels, Blazing State finisher. It does not reveal any unreleased campaign content. Treat the song as marketing, not as a spoiler. The in-game mechanic it shares a name with is the counter-attack window — same kanji, different object.

05Action ver. and the Sasaki Kojirō narration

A second video was released on the official Japanese channel the same week: an “Action ver.” cut of the “Issen” video, scored to a Sasaki Kojirō narration in Japanese. The clip pairs the song with the Sasaki Ganryu fight pattern from the demo — open with a deflect, counter into a Chain Issen, finish with a Blazing State hit. It is the first Capcom release that uses the demo’s combat to teach the song. The Kojirō narration is also a teaser for the campaign boss, since Sasaki Kojirō is the historical model for the demo’s Ganryu sword fight. YouTube hosts both clips: a Capcom-Asia upload (rvQOo3pjLvc) and the official Japanese “Action ver.” upload (mQFc-nwjRs). Both run on the same 2:40 song. The two videos are the canonical song clips — community uploads are just reuploads of these. Onimusha: Way of the Sword — MAN WITH A MISSION “Issen” Promo Video | CapcomAsia

06Collaboration art and the campaign window

The collaboration artwork pairs Musashi’s katana silhouette with MAN WITH A MISSION’s wolf-mask logo. The window runs from late August 2026 through launch week. There is no band-licensed vinyl in the game editions. Capcom’s standalone Art & Music Collection — a 64-page LP-jacket art book plus a 14-track vinyl with an MP3 code — is separate merchandise, not a Premium Deluxe extra. See editions for what the game SKUs actually bundle. Capcom has not published a composer credit this wiki can reprint. Do not treat a Steam scrape or a lookalike samurai score as a source. The in-game mini soundtrack is a short curated selection inside Premium Deluxe, not the full OST. A later commercial album would follow the pattern of older Onimusha releases — if and when Capcom announces one.

07The mini soundtrack in Premium Deluxe

Only Premium Deluxe includes the in-game mini digital soundtrack. Standard and Deluxe do not. That is Capcom’s own edition copy, the same list as Lion Dog versus Okuni outfits. If a shop writes “Deluxe soundtrack,” it is mixing SKUs. The full launch-day OST has not been published. Capcom has shipped separate soundtrack albums for previous Onimusha titles after launch; expect a similar pattern here. The characters page and bosses index will mark the score cues most worth hunting once player-made tracklists land after 4 September.
